Sunday school and Youth Group

Faith Formation and Confirmation Class are underway.

We meet downstairs in the ping pong room, next to the choir room. Using the Confirm Not Conform curriculum, confirmands will explore many aspects of faith including Scripture, liturgy and worship, church history and the Episcopal tradition, the meaning of the Sacraments, the Nicene Creed and Lord's Prayer, the Book of Common Prayer, world religions, and social justice. All of this will serve as preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, where students choose to commit their lives to Christ by making a mature, public affirmation of faith before our congregation and Bishop. This class is open to all tweens, including those who are interested in the study material, but may not yet be ready to be confirmed. Sherry Barrett, Jennifer Terpstra and Sally Lysne have more information.

Lectionary discussion

Youth Group

Many Thanks to Linda Weaver who devotedly nourished our children as a Co-Director of Sunday School programming for many years. She will take some much deserved time off and meditate on ministry is calling her next.

Three year olds through first graders meet every Sunday to learn God’s Word using the Godly Play curriculum by Jerome Barryman. We have added new stories to the curriculum.

Children's Ministry is for 2nd through 4th graders who use an expanded Godly Play program which focuses more on reading and active participation.

4th-6th graders will use a hands-on, activity based lectionary curriculum with some mentoring from teens.

7th grade and Up is for Youth Group. We'll review movie clips, read current books, watch youtube videos and compare/contrast them to Bible studies. As we continue our discipleship study we'll participate in a program called You Can't Walk on Water if you Don't get out of the Boat. Our goal is to more fully experience the challenges and successes of the disciples. We will also focus on youth group projects empowering students to make a difference in our local and global community.

We gather at 9AM in the teen room in Vintner Hall.

Other educational opportunities for children include: First Holy Communion Class, Confirmation Class, learning to acolyte (altar service) and music performance.

We meet Sundays at 9:15 in the Heritage Room (first floor) to enjoy adult Bible study led by Brian Gray, Bill Power and Father Patrick.  These leaders have an extensive knowledge of the Bible and world religions. They lead us in a thoughtful, active discussion. We study the Scripture texts of the day– Old Testament, New Testament, Psalm and Gospel. We also have occasional special sessions on other topics. Join us as we learn more about God, the Bible and each other. We continue to renew our lives as followers of Jesus and intentionally make room in our hearts and minds for God to enter. We pray this study brings us together so we may grow deeper in our walk with God.

Women at the Well is a group of women who meet at church twice a month; In June, July and August Women at the Well will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 7PM. .

We gather to reflect on a Scripture passage using a practice called lectio divina, an ancient way of praying with the Scripture. Our desire is to deepen our relationship with Jesus and with one another. The group is always open for interested women to join.  Contact Shari Godbold at 507-895-8202 from May through October or the church office during the winter.

The Senior Youth Group at Christ Church is active. It is led by Lee Donahue and her husband (Acolyte Warden) Tim Donahue.

We attend concerts, presentations, enjoy the great outdoors and get together to help others in our community.

We meet every Sunday at 9AM.  We generally schedule special activities on different days, not necessarily scheduled the same day each month but in tune with our teens extra curricular activities.

We use Journey to Adulthood (J2A) and Confirm not Conform curriculum among others. Our goal is to build a team of excited young people who are steadfast in their faith, and hungry for God's word and presence in their lives.

SR youth group welcomes youth in 9th - 12th grade.

Please contact for more information.

Jr. Youth Group is led by Sherry Barrett, Jennifer Terpstra and Sally Lysne currently they are midway through the Confirm not Conform Confirmation program.
