The Book of Common Prayer

Copies of the Book of Common Prayer are in every pew at Christ Episcopal Church. “The red book” represents the history and traditions of Episcopal faith and practice. It contains prayers, psalms, and text for every season, service, and sacrament of the church year.

Each printed program for our services includes prayers, scripture, and congregational responses. Traditional language is used during the Rite 1 service at 8 a.m. each Sunday. The 10:30 a.m. Rite 2 service is celebrated with more contemporary language.
